Districts and Schools Can Now Join CHPS for Free with CHPS Registered
Schools and districts can now become members of CHPS for free by joining CHPS Registered. The program will give schools and districts free access to tools and resources for designing, constructing, modernizing and operating high performance educational facilities.

CA-CHPS Criteria Out for Third Public Review
The 2009 Edition of the California CHPS Criteria was released for a second round of public review on Monday, December 22, 2008. The public review period will end Wednesday, January 7th, 2009. Only credits which received substantive changes during the second round of public comments are posted for the third public review. Please click here to download and comment on the CA-CHPS Criteria.

Second Public Review for the Texas CHPS Criteria is Now Closed
The 2009 Edition of the Texas CHPS Criteria was released for a second round of public review on Monday, December 15, 2008. The public review period ended Monday, January 5th, 2009. Only credits which received substantive changes during the first round of public comments are posted for the second public review.

Relocatable Classroom Criteria and Volume Public Review Is Now Closed
The first draft of the new High Performance Relocatable Criteria and Scorecard, in addition to the revised Best Practices Volume 6, was released for 15-day public review on Thursday, November 20th, 2008. U.S. House of Representatives Approves $20 Billion for Green Schools
CHPS Named as Building Standard for Qualifying Projects
The US House of Representatives approved a bill that would put over $20 billion towards improving school facilities across the US. The 21st Century Green High-Performing Public School Facilities Act would provide phased-in funding over the next five years. CHPS was named as one of the three recognized building standards for the funding. By 2013, 90% of the funding will have to be used for green schools. Read the Associated Press article here.
