Tennant Company Announces Plans to Expand its Direct business
A New Zealand Branch is set to open in September 2009
July 6, 2009—Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC), a world leader in designing, manufacturing and marketing solutions that help create a cleaner, safer world, today announced that it will expand its direct business with a New Zealand branch set to open its doors in September this year. Tennant operates directly in 15 countries and over 80 countries through distributors providing parts, service, sales and ongoing customer support a model which has proved successful and will see a further extension into the New Zealand market.
Southern Hospitality Limited which acquired Kleentech New Zealand Limited in 2007 have today announced a change in direction which will mean divesting from its Kleentech New Zealand Limited operations to instead focus on their core business of hospitality. Up until 31 August 2009 , Kleentech New Zealand Limited (Kleentech), a division of Southern Hospitality Limited and distributor of Tennant, will continue to service their Tennant customers with sales, service, parts and technical support. On 1 September 2009, Tennant Company will open its doors directly to the public in New Zealand with contact details to be announced to all existing Tennant Company customers in the coming weeks.
Kleentech has been a full line distributor for Tennant Company providing excellent customer service and expertise to the New Zealand market for a period of five years and will continue to do so during the transition process.

Customers will benefit from direct parts, service, rentals and sales as well as technical expertise to ensure their cleaning operations run efficiently and effectively.” Tennant has already begun the recruiting process to ensure a full team is in place by end of August. An announcement will be made shortly, however, it is anticipated that a number of existing staff from Kleentech’s Floor Care division will join the Tennant New Zealand direct operation.
