Tennant Company Showcases Sustainability Products in Copenhagen, with COP15 as Backdrop

ANTWERP- Nov. 30, 2009-- Tennant Company (NYSE: TNC), announced it will leverage the assembly of the world’s climate change policy makers by using the COP15 conference in Copenhagen next month as the backdrop to showcase the company’s innovative technologies for sustainable cleaning of indoor and outdoor environments.

To announce its presence, Tennant will host a press conference in Copenhagen on December 1, 2009, at the Hilton Copenhagen Airport Hotel, near the site of the COP15 conference.

Tennant’s proprietary ec-H2O™ technology which enables highly-effective chemical-free cleaning will be featured as the centerpiece of the company’s environment-friendly cleaning products. This technology, which earned Tennant the European Business Award for Innovation in 2009, electrically converts plain tap water into a powerful cleaning agent by temporarily altering the molecular structure of water. Once activated, the water attracts dirt better than commonly-used chemical detergents. The ec-H2O technology is available on all Tennant floor scrubbing machines and is also used in a hand-held spray application, marketed by Activeion, LLC, of Minnesota, USA.

In addition to ec-H2O technology, Tennant will provide a preview of its new lithium-ion battery-powered sweeper designed for cleaning urban outdoor environments. The 500ze sweeper will be formally launched in the first half of 2010, but for this special event, it has been selected by Bella Center for use around the conference facility. The 500ze offers superior cleaning, and offers unparalleled environmental benefits due to the fact that it emits no carbon dioxide and is nearly silent in its operation so can be used in daytime cleaning.
